Biography

Short bio

About 60 words. For programs, panel intros and podcast notes.

Lou Paris is a Hudson Valley wedding DJ, a two time DJ expo founder, and a thirty year technology veteran whose career runs from the FBI and the Department of Justice to the multiple startups he has founded. He performs every wedding himself, teaches the technical side of the craft to other DJs, and builds the software the events industry has been missing.

Long bio

About 200 words. For features, speaker pages and press releases.

Lou Paris has spent his life at the intersection of music and technology, and he has never been willing to pick one.

As DJ Lou Paris, he runs a boutique, single operator wedding business out of Kingston, New York, covering the Hudson Valley, the Catskills and beyond. Every event is performed by him personally, read live and mixed on the night, with no canned playlists and no substitute DJs. He has close to two hundred five star reviews to show for it.

He is also a builder of the industry around him. He founded Harvest of Sound in Boston and DJs ASSEMBLE in Syracuse, two expos created to give working DJs real technical education, and he takes that same teaching on the road with the Deep Cuts tour. He helps run one of the largest DJ communities online, The DJ Help Desk.

Behind all of it sits a thirty year technology career: senior systems and architecture roles supporting the FBI, the Department of Justice, USAID/OFDA and Skip Barber Racing School, plus two companies of his own, cue in 2020 and Zenvents in December 2025, both built to fix what the current event platforms get wrong.

He lives in Kingston, New York, quotes movies far too often, and still collects vinyl.

Three worlds, one operator

Most people in this industry do one of these. The combination is the story.

01

The wedding DJ

A boutique, single operator wedding business based in Kingston, New York, covering the Hudson Valley, the Catskills, Upstate New York and the surrounding states. You get me and only me, every time. No sub contracted DJs, no canned playlists, no cheese. The room gets read live and the set gets built on the night.

Running since 2012 · roughly 30 weddings a year · vinyl available on request

02

The industry builder

Founder of two DJ expos: Harvest of Sound in Boston and DJs ASSEMBLE in Syracuse, both built to give working DJs the serious technical education the big conferences skip. Deep Cuts takes the same teaching on the road as a small, hands on intensive. He also helps run one of the largest DJ communities online and publishes gear, audio and business teardowns for other DJs.

03

The technologist

Thirty years in technology, from web integration in 1996 to senior systems and architecture roles across federal and enterprise environments. He founded cue in 2020 and Zenvents in December 2025, both built to fix what the current event platforms get wrong, and he still writes the code himself. The engineering habits show up at the gig: real redundancy, real signal chain, nothing left to chance.

cue, founded 2020 · Zenvents, December 2025 · fluent in agentic coding
