“If you book Lou, you will not regret it. There is no one better at this job – he exceeded all of our expectations. Throughout the entire process, from start to finish, Lou made us confident that everything was in good hands and under control. He was proactive, organized, and professional, and made us breathe easier every time we spoke with him. Lou is a rare breed – he takes his role in your memorable day very seriously, but he doesn’t take himself too seriously. He’s an expert at what he does, and clearly enjoys it, but he was always approachable and ego-less, offering his advice when we needed it and always being incredibly responsive when we had a question for him. He makes sure your day is about you and not about him (which is more than I can say about a lot of other DJs I’ve seen!). We didn’t have a wedding planner but Lou was the closest to that – he truly was with us every step of the way, offering guidance on matters both inside and outside of his paid purview – in a manner that was above and beyond what we could have expected or hoped for. Most people that are about to get married haven’t planned a wedding before and likely won’t again and Lou was an absolute fount of knowledge and a reassuring presence.

As for the event itself: Lou was totally self-sufficient, the set up was completely seamless and the song selection and pacing were absolutely immaculate. Lou had to set up equipment in three separate places day-of and we were none the wiser about all the work that went into that – he handled it entirely directly with the venue. Lou handled the audio and music for the ceremony in a forest grove that was without cell reception or WiFi. You could hear every word perfectly. He equipped our officiant with a hands-free microphone of the same model Beyonce used in her last tour! He also recorded the audio for us, then coordinated with our friend who video-ed the ceremony, so that we have a crystal clear, crisp recording of our ceremony, which was very personal and central to our day. We’ve already watched it many times and cannot imagine not having it to rewatch.

We still get compliments on Lou’s reception set to this day, now 10 months removed from our wedding. We had told Lou how important a lively dance floor was to us – and boy did he deliver. Our dance floor was sensational. We’ve been to many weddings since ours that had a live band (pricey!) and a far inferior dance floor. We really loved how eclectic and unexpected the playlist was and so did everyone else (Avril, Bowling for Soup, Sum 41 – just classics that I wouldn’t have thought of but were so fun to dance to). We get a kick out of looking back at the reception footage and seeing our friends and family all mixed in together singing their hearts out on the dance floor. Lou surprised us after with a little highlight reel video of the dance floor – above and beyond.

The man truly loves music and it shows in every aspect of his craft. He took the time to truly understand our eclectic musical tastes and blend them seamlessly. We cannot recommend Lou strongly enough, and we offer him as an unsolicited suggestion at the very mention of a friend planning a wedding in the tri-state area. For the full service that he offers, Lou is an incredible deal.”
